Nàdurra means natural in Gaelic and takes inspiration from the traditional time-worn methods used to craft this first-fill Oloroso Sherry cask-aged malt. Dried fruits, apricots, and Mediterranean spices give this medium-bodied expression a lively feel. There’s an authentic Spanish charm in this one, with white raisins and saffron evoking the Levantine winds. Nicely crafted, this unfiltered malt has an old-school feel.
White raisins, caramelized figs, dates, white chocolate, vanilla, hints of citrus peels, and saffron make this a delightful nose, heavy on warm aromas but still lively and zippy. The First-fill Oloroso Sherry oak dominates the Speyside malt but it doesn’t feel unbalanced.
This is a medium-bodied malt, very summery, with dried fruits and a particular caramel taste, proper of an Oloroso cask. Smooth and creamy, this is a very well-rounded palate livened by dried orange peels and heartwarming spices. Easy to drink and hard to put down.
A medium-length finish with a warm feel. The spices mingle in the aftertaste over a mellow white fruit note that fades slowly.
A very gentle malt with a rustic, old-school character. Beautifully balanced and pleasingly layered. Not overly complicated or heavy, the Nàdurra shows a gentle side to The Glenlivet and pays homage to the Spanish casks showing their best side. A perfect sipping malt for warm summer days.
For a marriage between the Glenlivet classic style and Spanish casks, The Glenlivet 13 Year Old Sherry Single Cask, a limited release sold on squat bottles, might do the trick. A bit heavier on the palate than the Nàdurra Oloroso, it shares its spices and that unique Levantine feel.
