This is serious quality; the GlenDronach Parliament is among the finest Highland single malts for the age category. Rich, luscious and sexy, but graceful and classic. The combination of Oloroso and PX Sherry casks gives this malt a mature fruit character and deep undertones of chocolate and oak spices; it’s larger than life, a very pleasing expression.
What starts as blackberries and ripe grapes soon evolves into dark roasted malt and almonds supported by scents of chocolate ganache and spices, including a unique white pepper and nutmeg perfume.
This is a full-bodied, mature, complex malt. Bold and straightforward. The coating palate is a mélange of chocolate ripe berries and brown spices evoking Christmas fruitcake. Almonds, hazelnut, and just a fine layer of smoky flavors round up the palate.
A two-minute finish of heartwarming spices, dark chocolate and oaky vanilla makes this layered finish a true bliss. You just can’t get enough of it. The Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks really add depth and complexity to the finish.
A proper, old-school Highland malt with immense richness. Added to that, the bold selection of Sherry casks increase the expression’s range but leaves an elegant feel. Yes, this one is a malt you want to try. Actually, try the entire GlenDronach range; these guys are serious business.
The GlenDronach Original Aged 12 Years, a much younger malt, is a baby Parliament. Imagine all the flavors in the 21-year-old malt; attenuated in a lighter malt and for a much more affordable price. If you’re not sure if the Parliament is for you, start with this one — if you enjoy it, you’ll enjoy the more mature GlenDronach expression.
